At Maple Leaf, we manufacture Polythene Sheets for a wide variety of industrial and construction applications. Polyethylene molecules have a high water-vapor transmission rate (WVTR), meaning they act as excellent barriers to moisture and vapors such as oxygen. In addition, polyethylene is chemically non-reactive, allowing it to act as a corrosion-resistant shield against alkalis and nitrates present in the soil without getting degraded.
Our polythene sheets comply with the popular standards for testing Vapor Barriers such as ASTM-4397, which further comply with the installation standard ASTM E1643.

Our 3 layer co-extruded Polythene Sheet give a superior level of protection against moisture, vapors and chemicals. It is suitable for use in building construction as a concrete underlay. It helps prevent structural damping that occurs when warm, moist air penetrates and condenses inside a concrete slab, wall, roof or floor structure.
Our specially formulated Polythene Sheet prevents mold growth, rotting of timber and corrosion of metallic structures. Commonly used polythene sheets for such application measure between 125 microns (500 Gauge) and 250 microns (1000 Gauge) in thickness.
Ductile iron pipes used for water, oil and gas pipelines are particularly susceptible to rust and corrosion due to sub-soil chemicals such as sulfides, chlorides, and nitrates. The usable lifespan of such pipes can be significantly extended by encasing them in a polythene tube of at least 175 microns (700 Gauge) thickness.
